Following in my footsteps

I just had to show you this brilliant card that my almost six year old grandson Sam made for his dads birthday next week. He made the card all by himself apart from the taping of the red card to the base card and putting the insert into the card, I helped him a bit there. He stamped and coloured, stamped the envelope and even added the brads! He loves crafting, has done from a very early age and I am sure his dad will love this card who is a fanatic Man U fan, can't you tell!! Sam loves to watch and join in when I am in my craft room and is always colouring and cutting and pasting.

Spinner and Smirk

These 2 lovely items were made at Craft Club last week using the fabulous new 'Smirk' stamps.
First time I have made a 'spinner' card and I quite like the effect. The round box is covered using Basic Grey Urban Prairie/Bountiful paper. Thanks to Andrea for her brilliant inspiration. Apologies for the poor photo quality.

Hopefully that's it for this year!

Well I finally managed to finish all the cards for the grandchildren and these are just 3 of them. The rest are very similar to these, not had as much time as I usually do to spend on the cards this year, but never mind got there in the end!

Forever Friends Candle & Update

I love stamping on candles, its so easy but so effective and make a lovely and unusual personalised gift.
Update on Don - he is coming home on Monday, not just for an assessment visit, for good! They are so pleased with his progress there is no point in delaying it and as you can imagine, he is over the moon! He couldn't believe it when the physio told him today. He is walking really well on his crutches and he is managing the stairs no problem, he is such an inspiration. The plan was to take him home on Monday just for an hour to see how he manages walking, stairs, toilet, shower etc, and then if he 'passed the test' home on Friday, but as he is already doing all those tasks on his own now they are letting him home sooner. He cried with joy and disbelief when they told him and as you can imagine there wasn't a dry eye in the room!

Good News!!

After 7 weeks in Royal Liverpool hospital, Don was transferred to our local hospital yesterday, cannot believe it and as you can imagine, Don is so relieved to be nearer home. I will not miss that 80 mile round trip every day to Liverpool, terrible journey!

Hopefully Don will now recuperate much quicker and start to eat and gain some weight back. He can now walk with the aid of a frame and he is putting his weight on his bad leg. His goal is to be home for Christmas and knowing how he is I am sure he will acheive it.

Made a few cards this week, hope you like them.

Sugar Nellie Wallet

Made this card at Craft Club this week and I think its absolutely fab. It was a joy to make and its a different idea for that could be adapted for any age. The tags could be substituted for gift cards or money, I shall be making these for the grandchildren this year.
Thanks to Andrea for her wonderful inspiration as always and apologies for the slightly blurred images!

More Christmas Cards!

Been playing with my 'lil bug' again this week and here are a few cards created. The glitter window on the ice crystal cards was done by cutting a 'nestie' circle then layering strips of sellotape along the back of the circle and rubbing lots of fine glitter into the tape, easy!

Tuesday Craft Club Cards

These are the cards we made at this weeks craft club. Love the triple fold card with the Sugar Nellie's and cute verse. This was a real pelasure to make and really pleased with the end result.
Inkadinkadoo stamps were used for the Poinsettia card. Image coloured and matted and layered with red Bazill and gold mirri card. The red ribbon really finishes this one perfectly. Thanks to Andrea, as always for her brillaint inspiration.

Snowman & Snowflake Santa

A couple of cards made using my trusty old Cuttlebug. Stamped and coloured with Prisma pencils and added stickles glitter. The Merry Christmas sentiment is an Inkadinkado stamp.

Christmas Candles

Well I finally had a go at stamping these candles and they were so easy! I followed a tutorial and here are the links:
www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/stampedcandles.php
or www.stampin.com/tips/candles.htm

You have to make sure you pull the greasproof paper really tightly when heating with the heat gun and I 'polished' the candles and image with a soft cloth when cool.

I'm Distressing!!

This is my first attempt at distressing, okay I have been distressed many times but nothing to do with cardmaking!
This is a little out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed making this card, its different to my usual style.
This is my entry for Cute Card Thursday, which this week is 'Pretty in Pink'.

Tuesday Craft Club Cards
