Fairy Lee Birthday

This card I made for a friend for her mum's birthday.
I have used the lovely Fairy Lee digital image from the very talented Mo's Digital Pencil.
The image is coloured with Promarkers with Stickles glitter glue on wings and icing on cake.
I have coloured the pink flower with Promarkers and sparyed with gold glimmer mist.
The image and sentiment I have edged using Walnut Stain distress ink and Stickles glitter.

Lily of the Valley Bear with Bouquet

I just love Lily of the Valley stamps, they are so cute and easy to colour.
This one I coloured using Promarkers, I think I'm getting better with practice.
I wasnt very keen when I first started using Promarkers, I found it quite difficult to get the shading right. I watched a few really good tutorials on Youtube and I am pleased I did as I was ready to give up on them! Just one problem, there are so many
yummy colours and I want them all!

Penny Black Teddy Collection

This is the card that caused the demise of my poor lil cuttlebug!
The image is Penny Black Teddy Collection, coloured with Distress Inks.
The embossing folder is Crafts-Too, Butterflies.
This is going to a friend recovering from surgery, hope she likes it!

Boo-Hoo!!

Can't believe I have done it, but I have broken my Cuttlebug!! I am really cross with myself, I should have known I was pushing it a bit too far, I could feel it resisting but thought it would be okay, its always been such a sturdy little machine, I thought it was invincible!!

I think the problem was I was using a Crafts Too folder for embossing which I figure are slightly thicker than the CB folders, so if you use these folders in your bug, just be careful and use less shim. I forgot to remove some of the shim that I normally use with CB folders.

Well, the side of the bug flew off and it made a horrible grinding noise and bang, the whole thing fell to pieces! I am saddened too because it was a leaving gift from my colleagues at work when I retired 2 years ago. I shall have to save my pennies now for another one, luckily I have a Wizard so I can use that until I can replace my trusty old friend.

Had a little browse this evening and guess what I found, there is actually a PINK bug, now that I HAVE to have!!

RIP my lil friend !!

New Baby Girl Card

This card I made for my daughter Katie and son-in-law Gareth to congratulate them on the birth of their beautiful baby daughter Evie Lily Mae.

The background paper is pebblesinc, I think its called 'My Baby Girl' and of course the circle shapes are cut using Nesties. I took about 100 photos before I found the perfect one!

Circular sentiment is printed on PC using Wordart.

Nappy Cake

This is my first attempt at making a nappy cake. I followed a tutorial on Youtube and had great fun collecting the bits and putting it together. Its quite heavy as there are quite a few goodies in there, 2 packs of nappies, 2 blankets, 1 baby towel, 3 facecloths, 2 dummies, 2 comforters, 1 baby powder, 1 lotion, 1 teething gel, 1 gel teether, brush and comb, 8 pairs of socks (rolled into roses), 3 bibs, 1 sponge and 1 baby bottle!

This is our gift to our new granddaughter Evie, its a shame to take it apart but it has to be used!

Our New Baby Girl!!

Our gorgeous baby granddaughter arrived yesterday weighing 7lb 13oz! Her name is Evie Lily Mae and her big brother Samuel is really thrilled that she is here at last. Both mum and baby are both fine, Katie had a planned section which was just as well as Evie was breech which Katie was totally unaware of. So when the midwife examined her last week and said her head was down it was in fact her butt she could feel!

Evie is our 11th grandchild, 9 girls and 2 boys! We have very strong female genes in our family!! She will be spoilt, no doubt about that.

Cupcakes, Fairy's and Pink!

This card I made for my daughter Donna's birthday, she loves cupcakes, fairies and pink so the card was tailor made for her and pleased to say she was delighted with it!

The image is a download called 'Sugar' from the very talented Mo's Digital Pencil. I was always a bit reluctant to try digital images because I have always found that the printer ink smudges and bleeds and as I use Prismas and Sansador for colouring it was a problem. However, I invested in ink fixative and hey presto! it works! There are some really gorgeous images to choose from, I have quite a few of them on my wishlist! You can click on the link above or on my sidebar, if you haven't seen Mo's work before, go take a peek, you won't be disappointed.

Hope you are all cosy and warm in this freezin cold weather, we have had snow all day today, not heavy, just small light flakes, nothing like it was last Tuesday! Hopefully by weekend it will start melting away and we might even manage to creep beyond nil celcius! Roll on Spring!!

Sweet Tilda

Well lots of birthdays in our family in January and this is one I made for my granddaughter Bethany's 16th birthday. Beth loves Tilda's as much as I do so she was thrilled with her card.

The sweet Magnolia images were coloured with Prismas with lots of Stickles glitter added.
The BP I have no idea sorry, had it in my stash for ages.
The angel charm has 'made for an angel' on it, which adds a special touch.
I made a tag to fit inside a little pocket and made a bow from some left over tulle.
Circles made using Cuttlebug Nesties.
Hand stitched around edge with dark brown embroidery floss

Hope you are all keeping warm in this flippin freezin weather! Had enough of it now, just wish it would go away. This morning I had to lean out of the upstairs windows and knock the icicles off the guttering, they were beginning to thaw and dropping down like daggers! Thought I better do something before someone got 'speared' by one of them, doesnt bear thinking about!

Hope this means we will have a good summer (LOL)!!

Penny Black Joy Fold Anniversary Card

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all, hope 2010 is a good one for everyone.

After the frenzy of Christmas card making, I lost my mo-jo, just couldnt get motivated at all but we have a ruck of birthdays and anniversaries in January so I had to shake myself up and get my brain in gear.

My first card for 2010 is this one, made for my brother and SIL wedding anniversary. I really enjoy making joy fold cards so thought I would make one for this occasion. The image is of course Penny Black - T.L.C. coloured with Prismas, the DS paper I have had for a while so don't know the name of, sorry! The sentiment I printed on PC. I had this card on the passeneger seat of my car ready for posting when I passed my Granddaughter Bethany who was struggling to walk through a blizzard. I was concentrating so hard on trying not to skid on the ice and watching traffic behind me, I forgot the card was on the passenger seat ........ she jumped into the car and yes, she sat on my card!! I didnt dare open it to check it as I was heading to the the last post collection of the day. Luckily the card seemed none the worse for being sat upon by her damp rearend and I hope it reached its destination without too much damage!

Birthday Card for Ann

Well it's all over for another year, phew!! I hope you all had a wonderful time at Christmas, we had a very hectic 2 days but it was lovely to have all the family together and for Don to enjoy it this year, he has very little memory of last year as he was so poorly. We all tried to make this Christmas special for him and for us.

It was my very dear friend Ann's birthday on Christmas Day and this is the card I made for her, I hope she liked it! The cute Penny Black image has been coloured with Prismas, the background paper is My Mind's Eye and the sentiment printed on PC.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the holiday week and best wishes for 2010!!

Last Christmas Cards for 2009!

Whoopee, at long last all my christmas cards are finished and posted and these are the last two made. All my christmas stuff is packed away for another year and my craft room is looking nice and tidy (not for long! he he).

The Tilda image I coloured using Distress inks and the cute elf image was coloured with Prisma pencils.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2010.

Really quick and easy to colour, I used Prismas on this one, the background paper is Eskimo kisses, rooftop.

Christmas Tilda's

Don't know about you but Christmas is not my favourite time of year but I do love making Christmas cards, however, I am all Christmassed out!! Can't wait to pack all my chrissy stuff away and get back to 'ordinary' cardmaking! Every year I vow to make a Chrissy card a week, then it won't creep up on me, but my craft room is awash with sparkly bits and pieces and shelves full of christmas stamps I need to move it all away to make room for all year round stuff!

Here are a couple of Tilda cards using I think is the Christmas Eve Tilda. I have coloured her with Distress inks, my latest 'must haves!' These 2 are my first attempt with the Distress inks, I don't think they look too bad (if you don't look too closely!). Practice makes perfect so they say and I am enjoying practising.

Bear and Robin

These gorgeous images were very kindly stamped for me by Viv, he is such a cute bear!

The top one is a joy fold card using Forever Friends 'Santa's on His Way' paper, coloured with Prismas.

The lovely shapes on the red and green cards were very kindly cut for me on the cricut machine by Andrea, I have some lovely crafting buddies, thanks girls!!

Holly Wreath and Fleur De Lis

Another card made using the beautiful Fleur De Lis Shapeability die. The holly wreath I made by punching holly leaves from 2 shades of green card, punched small red dots from red glitter card and added small punched snowflakes from white glitter card. Added a little bling with tiny rhinestones in the centre of each snowflake and the red bow is a stamped image.

Quick and simple which is just how I like it!

Fleur De Lis

This is my latest Spellbinders purchase, the Fluer De Lis Shapeability die, which I have to admit when I very first used it in my Cuttlebug I could not release the card from the die, but after a few trials and errors its now working a treat. I love the shape and versatility of this die and I have decided that the border to match is a must, so thats me next planned spend!!

What do you think of my handmade poisettia? I was just playing about with a Woodware leaf punch and this is what I ended up with, I am quite pleased with it and I think it works quite well against the white background of the Fluer De Lis shape.

Christmas Cards

I am trying to finish my Christmas cards for this year and this is a small selection of some I made recently. I love this shape made using the Cricut, unfortunately I don't have one of these machines (yet!). Its on my wish list for Santa as I have been a very good girl so you never know!

Andrea has been a star and cut some shapes for me to be going on with, thanks Andrea!

Willow Christening Card

This card was made for a colleague at work, it was a bit last minute as she asked me to make the card on Thursday for the the following Sunday! Luckily I had the front of the card already made so all I had to do was decorate and personalise the inside and make a box. Because of the flowers on the front being so raised it wouldnt fit into an ordinary envelope but I am pleased with the end result, I think it makes it more of a keepsake.
