Christmas in May!

Hello everyone, hope you are all well and enjoying at least a little sunshine this weekend.  Its lovely and sunny here in Cheshire at the moment but there are some dark clouds lingering around so I am sure we will have some more rain before the day is through. We needed a bit of rain... well the plants and gardens certainly do, just hope it doesnt last for weeks like it usually does..... !!

Well onto this card, I know ....... Christmas cards already, but its never too soon to start cos it soon creeps up!  The challenge over at Lili of the Valley is 'Animal Antics' and I straight away thought about this cute James bear 'Deck the Halls' image, I think he's trying to be a christmas tree don't you??

The paper is from Pepper's Christmas Party paper pack.

Image coloured with Prisma pencils and Sansador.

I am also entering this card into Sketch n Stash Challenge #60 which this week is 'Free Choice'.  They have a fabulous selection of sketches and you just choose from the catalogue the sketch you fancy using.
This one is sketch # 30.

Apologies for the poor photo quality, the light wasn't brilliant when I took this photo yesterday.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for your visit,
I really do appreciate it!

Hugs,

Cupcakes, Fairy's and Pink!

This card I made for my daughter Donna's birthday, she loves cupcakes, fairies and pink so the card was tailor made for her and pleased to say she was delighted with it!

The image is a download called 'Sugar' from the very talented Mo's Digital Pencil. I was always a bit reluctant to try digital images because I have always found that the printer ink smudges and bleeds and as I use Prismas and Sansador for colouring it was a problem. However, I invested in ink fixative and hey presto! it works! There are some really gorgeous images to choose from, I have quite a few of them on my wishlist! You can click on the link above or on my sidebar, if you haven't seen Mo's work before, go take a peek, you won't be disappointed.

Hope you are all cosy and warm in this freezin cold weather, we have had snow all day today, not heavy, just small light flakes, nothing like it was last Tuesday! Hopefully by weekend it will start melting away and we might even manage to creep beyond nil celcius! Roll on Spring!!

Christmas Cards

I am trying to finish my Christmas cards for this year and this is a small selection of some I made recently. I love this shape made using the Cricut, unfortunately I don't have one of these machines (yet!). Its on my wish list for Santa as I have been a very good girl so you never know!

Andrea has been a star and cut some shapes for me to be going on with, thanks Andrea!

Magnolia Parrot Card

As soon as I saw this scrummy Magnolia parrot image I knew I had to use it to make my daughter Caron's birthday card from her sister Donna. He is coloured with Prismas and Sansador and I tried to match the colours of Caron's parrot Tommy. A different card from the usual and she was thrilled with it. Many thanks to Andrea for the loan of the stamp.

Cuttlebug Challenge & Charisma Cardz Challenge

One card for 2 challenges this week for me, I love it when that happens!

The Cuttlebug Challenge this week is to use Coredinations and Basic Grey on your card and this is my entry.

The Challenge over at Charisma Cardz is to use a colour combination of Pink & Brown so I think this one well qualifies!

The paper is from either the Bittersweet or Sugared pad, can't remember which one! The Coredinations card is from a 'Chocolate Box' pad and its the first time I have used Coredinations, wasn't too sure about it at first... but its grown on me! The embossing is of course the Cuttlebug stylised flowers folder.

I have coloured Tilda using prisma pencils and flowers and ribbon are from stash.

Just Magnolia Week 7 - Animals & Insects

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and enjoying the lovely sunny weather. Its been too hot and sticky to craft the last few days but today is a little cooler so I have spent some time in my craft room today and this card is the result. This is my entry for the Just Magnolia Challenge - Week 7, Animals and Insects. This week the challenge is Animals and Insects - your card has to feature either and the animal or insect does not have to be a Magnolia image - or even a stamp, it could be a die cut, a punch out, a charm, shaped button - anything as long as it is an animal or insect.

The papers are from the Basic Grey Bittersweet collection and I have used the Cuttlebug Paisley folder on Bazill card to match the paisley pattern of the paper. Lace and flowers are from my stash and the sentiment done on PC. Tilda has been coloured using Prisma pencils and Sansador and I just have to give these little ladies a smile!

Penny Black Birthday

Hello again, hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine, nice to see it back after all that rain.

Another card made over the wet weekend we had, not sure who this one will be for, probably my daughters at the end of May. Everything used on this card is from my stash, I am trying to use up the stacks of bits of paper and card that seems to accumulate and take over my craft room!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes

The challenge at PBSC is 'Anything Goes' - which means you can do anything as long as it incorporates a Penny Black image. This is my entry for the challenge.

18th Birthday Card

This card I have made for my granddaughter Jessica's 18th birthday which is today. The image is from Charmed Cards & Crafts - Holly & Madison. I have coloured the image using Prismas and Sansador. I made the flower using my Nesties Scalloped Circles, sentiment done on PC. The hearts inside were made using my Nesties Hearts.

Just Magnolia Challenge #1

The first challenge this week for 'Just Magnolia' is a sketch and this is my entry. This was a lovely sketch and the card just came together so well. The paper I have used is Basic Grey Bittersweet, the flowers I made using my scalloped circle nesties and the leaves are Leone Em Ash punch. Tilda is coloured using Prisma pencils and Sansador and I had to give this little Tilda a mouth, her face looked a little 'blank' to me!

Hedgie Mothers Day

I have been asked to make quite a few Mother's Day cards by friend's and as I enjoy making these scalloped circle cards so much it would make it less of a chore! I have used pink Bazzil Card and of course the scallops are made using the trusty old Cuttlebug. The sentiment inside is a stamp I have had for ages that came free with a magazine. I shall be making lots more of these style of cards and posting them on my blog, so keep a look out.

THE last cards of Christmas 2008!!

These are definately the last cards I am making this year! The four cards here are the ones I have made for my 4 daughters and hubbies. As you may guess I love these magnolia stamps, they are so 'Christmassy'.
Hope you all have a fabulous Christmas and a Peaceful and Healthy New Year. We are planning on a quieter Christmas this year, but at least we have Don home in time for it. He is doing really well with his walking, he is managing to walk short distances without his crutches and he is beginning to watch a bit of TV and read a little, so his progress is slow but steady. He still has his good and bad days, but he has more of the good which is encouraging. The blindness in his right eye really gets him down at times, but he seems to be coping better with the use of his good left eye, perhaps it is now beginning to adjust.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

Magnolia Christmas Cards

A couple of cards I have managed to create this week, I am panicking a bit now as Christmas has crept up so quickly and I have hardly any cards made. These 2 are for family members, the one on the left is going to my sister in Australia, not sure yet who the other one will go to.

Don is doing okay, a bit depressed at the moment, he thought once he was home from hospital everything would be back to 'normal' and of course it isn't and he is finding that very difficult to deal with. He needs constant care, he can do very little for himself which he finds very frustrating. He is still managing to walk around on his crutches and doing really well but his eyesight is letting him down badly, he finds that the worst to cope with. Hopefully, he will improve as time goes on but its not moving quick enough for him, he wants someone to come along with a magic wand and everything will be as it was, sadly, that will not be the case.

Another Craft Club Creation and Update

Another fabulous creation inspired by Andrea. Magnolia 'Grandad' is coloured with Prisma pencils and Sansador. His waistcoat is stamped and cut out using
matching paper. The base of this cute card is half a kitchen roll cut in half, glued at the base and covered with paper, easy peasy!
Update on Don
He is much bettter since moving to Macclesfield Hospital last week, but he is very tearful and depressed as he was told today that he will be in hospital for at least another month. He was already feeling very down because of the loss of sight in his eye, he feels he is never going to make it home. We are all trying really hard to make him feel positive and keep his spirits up, but he has no concept of how badly injured and critically ill he has been. He is doing a little bit of walking each day, he is still unable to wash, toilet, shower or climb stairs and until he can do those things he is unable to be home. Its not happening quick enough for him, he is a very impatient patient!

Craft Club Make Pocket Card

This is a pocket type card made at Craft Club this week. It could also be used as a doorhanger with some sweets, chocolate or a little gift popped inside.
