Easel Drawer Card

Hello there everyone, hope you are all well this fab sunny weekend, hope wherever you live you have had some sunshine.  Sorry about the lack of posts this week, had a couple of family problems, its been a bit difficult to concentrate and my mojo went AWOL.  Things are a little better but still not resolved but I won't bore you any longer...... onto my card today and its yet another easel drawer card, really loving this style at the moment!   For this card I used 300gsm watercolour card....... its a bit sturdier than normal card  and I quite like the effect of it.  I have used a Martha Stewart punch around the page..... sorry, forgot the name of it! ........ The edges have been distressed with Frayed Burlap DI........  The papers are Nitwits Thimbles n Threads..... Image is Lili of the Valley coloured using Distress Inks................. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts as is the small metal corner which has been painted and embossed to give it a shabby vintage look............ sentiment is Lili of the Valley and tag is Spellbinders.... little leaves are Marianne.

I will be back tomorrow to show you my DT card for this weeks Challenge #65 over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp which is a fab sketch by Uma.

Katies Book Card

Good evening everyone, hope you all enjoyed the lovely hot weather today but I have to admit it was too hotfor me, just nice now its cooled down a bit.  I know some parts of the UK didnt have any nice sunshine today, the weather map showed it 32 degrees in Kent and only 11 degrees in Lerwick!  How strange and unpredictable our weather is!!

Well onto my card for today and its a very special card I made for Katie for her 30th birthday at the weekend.   I followed a fab tutorial here by Tina and believe me its not as complicated as it looks ...... I really enjoyed this project, if you haven't already done so, please visit Tina's blog, her work is amazing.

Tilda and butterflies coloured with Distress Inks, edges all distressed with Frayed Burlap
Stempelgede Grunge Collection around image with Versamark Vintage Sepia
Prima 'Sweet Fairy' paper pack
Martha Stewart Punch
Flowers and seam binding by Wild Orchid
Lace and ribbon from stash
Vintage Alphabet by Tim Holtz
Birthday verse found on internet

Apologies for the hundreds of photos but I wanted to capture every angle of the card so you can see it from all sides.

Thats it for me for today, I am off to walk the dog before it chucks it down!!  Thanks for dropping by, enjoy the rest of your evening.

Sketch Saturday Week # 140

It's my final week as GDT for Sketch Saturday and I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as GDT and would like to thank Jilli and the rest of the fab Design Team for inviting me. This weeks challenge is sponsored by The Craft Barn and the fabulous prize is a set of Crafty Secrets Cherub Clear Arts Stamps, they really are gorgeous, wouldn't mind that set myself! Do go take a peek at the fabulous entries from the Design Team.
Onto this card and the image is Grace, one of the beautiful Simply Adorables Digi's from Funky Kits. She is coloured with Promarkers with a touch of Prisma black pencil just to accentuate the shadows a little. The papers I think are Papermania Jack & Jill, edged with Walnut DI and Star Dust Stickles. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Sentiment is Lili of the Valley.
Well it's Sunday again which means a busy day with family and sunday roast...... roast beef and yorkshire puds with lashings of delicious gravy, roast honey parsnips, buttered carrots, juicy broccoli, yummy, yummy, making you hungry LOL ???!!

Tealight Card

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are all well this freezing cold day!! I have been so cold today, just cannot get warm and its supposed to be getting colder by the end of the week, brrrrrr!!

Well onto today's card and its a tealight card, Ive been itching to make one of these for ages, I followed a brilliant tutorial by Stampartic. It was great fun and easy to make, I love cards that are different from the usual trend. If I make another one of these I will add a piece of acetate to the little window but it looks okay without it.

The little pocket on the left side of the card holds a little tag, not sure the make of the paper, had it ages, the circular sentiment is Catslife Press and the image is Lili of the Valley Candle Girl , coloured with Distress Inks. The edges of the card and flower are distressed with Frayed Burlap.
Thanks for dropping by, hope to see you again soon and keep warm!!

90th Birthday

Hi there, thanks for visiting and sorry I have been AWOL for a couple of weeks. Not really been in the mood for blogging or cardmaking recently, various reasons I won't bore you with here. Anyway .... this is a card I made for my daughter to give to one of her customers on her 90th birthday. The birds and swirls embossing is of course a Cuttlebug folder which I have coloured using distress inks and added lots of glitter with stickles star dust. The sentiment I printed on the PC, the butterfly is an X-cut punch, again I have coloured using dusty concorde distress ink. The top and bottom edges were punched using a Martha Stewart punch. Hope Doris (aka Dodge) likes her card!

Cute Card Thursday Week 5

Well it's my last week as Guest DT for Cute Card Thursday for April and I must say I have really enjoyed the challenges, my inspiration goes AWOL at times,
I'm sure you can all identify with that one!

The theme this week is 'Make Your Own' which panicked me a little at first but once I got my head together it was okay. For this card I have stamped the background swirls with Distress Ink - Victorian Velvet and edged with Walnut Stain with Stickles Star Dust. Tilda is coloured using Distress inks and the flowers I made following a fab tutorial here.

Lili Of The Valley Challenge 51

There is a great sketch by the very talented Bev for the Lili of the Valley Challenge number 51 this week and as I haven't entered any challenges for absoloutely ages I thought I would make the effort and this is it!

The base card is pink Bazill, the BP is a Cuddly Buddly download (I think, I have had this ages!), the image was a freebie stamp with a magazine, coloured using Promarkers. The doily circle I made using a large Nestie circle which I then punched using a Martha Stewart punch, the flowers are also Martha Stewart. I have distressed the edges with Walnut Stain and Spun Sugar and added Stickles Star Dust to add a bit of bling!

Thanks for looking and please leave me comments good or bad, I love to read them and do appreciate them.

Sunglasses at the ready!

I know, I know, this is soooo out of my comfort zone, these colours are just not me, I am a pink girly girl!! But, I had to make a card for my granddaughter Laura who is NOT a girly girl and cannot abide PINK! I think she will approve of this one, if not its just tough!!

It is of course another tent card, can you tell I am really into these at the mo? The base card is Bazill, the backing paper is Papermania Capsule Sunshine collection, Tilda is coloured with Promarkers. I have edged the aperture and edges with Distress ink Walnut Stain then added Star Dust Stickles.

Thanks for looking!

Guest DT for Cute Card Thursday Week 2

Well the challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday is Mono Mania and as I have been invited to be Guest DT for the month of April, this is my creation for week 2. I have chosen the colour pink as it's my most fave colour and I have made a tent card which seem to be very popular at the moment. It was very simple to make following a fab tutorial here, I love these cards, I think I shall be making more of these!

The base card is Bazill, the backing paper is Papermania Rose Garden and the stamps are of course Magnolia. The images are coloured using Promarkers, the edges of the card and the aperture are distressed with Walnut Stain distress ink and Star Dust stickles glue.

Hope you are all enjoying the lovely Spring sunshine, its so nice to see the sun after such a long, cold and dreary winter.

Thanks for looking!!

Last Christmas Cards for 2009!

Whoopee, at long last all my christmas cards are finished and posted and these are the last two made. All my christmas stuff is packed away for another year and my craft room is looking nice and tidy (not for long! he he).

The Tilda image I coloured using Distress inks and the cute elf image was coloured with Prisma pencils.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2010.

Christmas Tilda's

Don't know about you but Christmas is not my favourite time of year but I do love making Christmas cards, however, I am all Christmassed out!! Can't wait to pack all my chrissy stuff away and get back to 'ordinary' cardmaking! Every year I vow to make a Chrissy card a week, then it won't creep up on me, but my craft room is awash with sparkly bits and pieces and shelves full of christmas stamps I need to move it all away to make room for all year round stuff!

Here are a couple of Tilda cards using I think is the Christmas Eve Tilda. I have coloured her with Distress inks, my latest 'must haves!' These 2 are my first attempt with the Distress inks, I don't think they look too bad (if you don't look too closely!). Practice makes perfect so they say and I am enjoying practising.
