Just had to share this fab photo of my gorgeous granddaughter Evie Lily Mae sleeping peacefully surrounded by her mummy's teddy bear collection. Doesnt she look cute and comfy!

Alison's Birthday Card

Thank you everyone for your lovely messages regarding the loss of my dear friend Marie. Today was her funeral and sadly I couldn't make it to Cornwall to say my last goodbye to her. I tried to get flights but of course there are no flights because of the volcano ash and I couldnt possibly drive down there, I am not good with motorway driving! I know she would understand and I made my own goodbye to her in my own way.

Well onto this card! Its for my daughter Alison's 37th birthday this month and its an image I have been looking for years! When she was little she had a suit exactly the same as this and it was bright yellow! She loved that suit, she would wear it every opportunity she could and it always kept her snug and warm during cold nights. She still talks about it to this day and when we reminisce about her childhood days we all have this picture in our heads of Alison in that suit! Eventually she wore it it out and of course she outgrew it but it was years before I could bring myself to throw it away. She will laugh her head off when she sees this!!

This fab image is a digi download from Whimsy Stamps, I have coloured her with Promarkers, the BP's I have no idea, they have been in my stash for ages. I stamped swirls in Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and added Walnut Stain and stickles around the edges. The faux stitching is done with a white gel pen and the gems I have coloured with an orange Promarker. Flowers from stash and the leaves are Leone Em ash branch.

A Sad Card

I didn't expect that I would have to make this card but sadly I have as my dear friend Marie has passed away. This card is for her devastated family and husband Dave. Marie and I have been friends for almost 30 years, my daughter is married to her son so we shared grandchildren as well. Marie & Dave semi-retired and moved to Cornwall a few years ago and were really happy in their little park home. Sadly, Marie suffered a massive stroke a few weeks ago and was really poorly but she seemed to be recovering well from it and was moved to a rehab hospital to learn to use her hands and legs and help her with her speech. She was having physio and there were plans for her to return home with help. Then the devastating news last weekend, Marie had suffered another massive stroke and passed away. Can't believe she has gone and we will never see her again, she was a lovely person and I have so many fond memories of her.

Cute Card Thursday Week 5

Well it's my last week as Guest DT for Cute Card Thursday for April and I must say I have really enjoyed the challenges, my inspiration goes AWOL at times,

I'm sure you can all identify with that one!

The theme this week is 'Make Your Own' which panicked me a little at first but once I got my head together it was okay. For this card I have stamped the background swirls with Distress Ink - Victorian Velvet and edged with Walnut Stain with Stickles Star Dust. Tilda is coloured using Distress inks and the flowers I made following a fab tutorial here.

Cute Card Thursday Guest DT Week 4

Well its week 4 at Cute Card Thursday and its a brilliant sketch by Andrea. This is my fourth week as Guest DT and I must say I have really enjoyed the challenges, so much so it's spurred me on to enter a few challenges, something I havent done for quite a while. Time just whizzes by though and by the time I finally manage to get around to making a card the challenge has moved on to the next one!

For this card I have used Papermania Rose Garden backing paper, I love this paper and the little tag is part of the same set. I have coloured Tilda with Promarkers, the edges I have distressed with Walnut Stain and added Star Dust stickles. The gorgeous blooms are from Wild Orchid, I have spritzed them with Glimmer Mist Gold although you can't see it very well on the photo. The ribbon butterfly is my first attempt following a tutorial from Sue Nelson of Heartprints.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

The challenge at Penny Black this week is Monochromatic Brown and as brown is one of my fave colours for cardmaking I had to have a go!

The image is of course Penny Black, coloured with Promarkers and I have used Nestability Labels 3. The punch is Martha Stewart and background paper is Dovecraft Masculine.

Fairy Step Birthday

It's my granddaughter Abbie's 13th birthday today and this is the card I made for her. The images are a freebie from a magazine, coloured with Promarkers. Pink Bazill base card which has been stamped with Versamark and Glamour Dust on the fairy wings.

I am quite pleased with this card, I love the simplicity of it, hope Abbie likes it too, I'm sure she will!

Lili Of The Valley Challenge 51

There is a great sketch by the very talented Bev for the Lili of the Valley Challenge number 51 this week and as I haven't entered any challenges for absoloutely ages I thought I would make the effort and this is it!

The base card is pink Bazill, the BP is a Cuddly Buddly download (I think, I have had this ages!), the image was a freebie stamp with a magazine, coloured using Promarkers. The doily circle I made using a large Nestie circle which I then punched using a Martha Stewart punch, the flowers are also Martha Stewart. I have distressed the edges with Walnut Stain and Spun Sugar and added Stickles Star Dust to add a bit of bling!

Cute Card Thursday Guest DT Week 3

This is my card as Guest DT for Cute Card Thursday, the theme this week is 'Touchy Feely' and I thought this cute image from Lily of the Valley just suited that title. I have also tried to add various types of texture, with buttons, twine, ribbons, flowers and pearls. The stitching is faux around the edge as my machine doesnt like card! You can't see it very well on the photo but the flowers have a teeny bit of Star Dust Stickles on them and the large rose I have sprayed with Glimmer Mist Iridescent Gold.

The image I have coloured using Promarkers and I have distressed the edges with Antique Linen. The base card is Bazill and the papers are My Mind's Eye. The gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid.

I know, I know, this is soooo out of my comfort zone, these colours are just not me, I am a pink girly girl!! But, I had to make a card for my granddaughter Laura who is NOT a girly girl and cannot abide PINK! I think she will approve of this one, if not its just tough!!

It is of course another tent card, can you tell I am really into these at the mo? The base card is Bazill, the backing paper is Papermania Capsule Sunshine collection, Tilda is coloured with Promarkers. I have edged the aperture and edges with Distress ink Walnut Stain then added Star Dust Stickles.

Guest DT for Cute Card Thursday Week 2

Well the challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday is Mono Mania and as I have been invited to be Guest DT for the month of April, this is my creation for week 2. I have chosen the colour pink as it's my most fave colour and I have made a tent card which seem to be very popular at the moment. It was very simple to make following a fab tutorial here, I love these cards, I think I shall be making more of these!

The base card is Bazill, the backing paper is Papermania Rose Garden and the stamps are of course Magnolia. The images are coloured using Promarkers, the edges of the card and the aperture are distressed with Walnut Stain distress ink and Star Dust stickles glue.

Hope you are all enjoying the lovely Spring sunshine, its so nice to see the sun after such a long, cold and dreary winter.

Little Footballer!

This little card I made for my grandson Sam who will be 7 this month. He is an avid MU fan so the colours had to be just right! This stamp is a Lili of the Valley, coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment I did on the PC using a free font download called 'Bend it'. The little footballs were a download from Cuddly Buddly, I re-sized the ball as small as I could, printed them off then punched them out, perfect!!

Crafty Milk Cartons!

I made these little Easter cartons for my daughters, even though they are all grown up and married I still give them Easter eggs, after all, your'e never too old for chocolate!

The carton template I jiggled around a bit to make the top bit a bit longer so I could add the sweet Magnolia sentiment. The double sided paper I have had in my stash for ages, I wanted to use it up and this project was ideal. The Tildas are coloured with Promarkers and a matching bow added to the mini clip at the top. Really simple and fun to make, hope the girls like them!

Get Well Soon Card

This card is for a very dear friend of mine who is rather poorly at the moment after suffering a severe stroke. She lives in Cornwall so I can't even visit her so I made this little card to let her know she is in my thoughts and prayers.

The cute bear is of course a Penny Black, I have coloured him using Promarkers with a bit of Stickles glitter added to the flowers. I have no idea where the background paper is from, I have had it for ages, wish I did know, its really quite sweet and its double sided.

Easter Packages

I made these little packages for my grandchildren this Easter, I wanted to give them something different this year so when I received this lovely Lili of the Valley bunny and daffs stamp I knew what I was going to do with it. The clear cello bags contain a chocolate Easter bunny and a mixture of chocolate chicks, eggs, ladybirds, all from Aldi, their chocolate is delicious!

I have coloured the bunny and daffs with Promarkers and added a punched flower in the top corner to hide the staple! Hope they like them!

PINK BUG!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day and were totally spoiled like all mums deserve to be. I had a lovely surprise, a new PINK Cuttlebug!! As regular followers of my blog will probably know, I broke my lil bug a few weeks ago and decided I would like a new pink bug when I could eventually afford to replace it. My girls knew how much I wanted one and they clubbed together for my pressy for today, isnt that fab?? Totally unexpected, I am happy with choccys and flowers (which I also had in abundance) on Mother's Day so to receive that big box and wrapped so beautifully was amazing. Thank you to my wonderful family for all the cards, flowers. choccy's, smellies and best of all, my PINK bug!
